How to spent our first weekend in Bangkok Thailand

August 12, 2017
Today was our first weekend during our stay at BKR school. So we plan to explore Bangkok and its surroundings. Although we are only four we believe we will be fine. It is also our means of becoming more mature and independent while away from our parents and beyond our comfort zone in Indonesia. Well for our first destination today is Pattaya, this beach is very popular in Thailand even though we are big new people here but we sure can go to Pattaya and please note that we do not bring Thai people so we can be called "desperate traveler" according to I am not too reckless because we go with enough money and good English skills so as not to make us become inferior and panicked. With the advancement of our communication and information technology using map and help from the buddy that has been provided by our host university get enough guidance to help us explore some interesting destination places in Bangkok Thailand.

It was early afternoon and promptly at 09.00 am we arrived at Future Park which is a shopping mall where there is also a venue for the center of the van and various other vehicles such as terminals that go to several places in Thailand. We take a van of some kind of angkot in Indonesia but the size is bigger, spacious and comfortable because in facilitation with air conditioner and the chair is soft, just pay 35 Bath. This really helps us especially in extremely hot weather in Thailand. Okay, arrive at the next stop at Chahalchak some traveler who likes shopping must know this market. Unfortunately, this market is only open on weekends so if there is no chance to shop this hunt then we have to wait another week. Everything is out of our control. Maybe because we spent too much time on the street while looking for the right van we left for the night. In the end, the queue to Pattaya is very long and winding with the hotter weather from Indonesia making us rethink to continue all our plans.
Ok, it's time to look for other destinations in Bangkok, after a long search and hot day we finally found a place in Bangkok interesting enough to visit his name is Sukkan Pakkad, just by paying 100 Bath or worth approximately 40 thousand dollars for foreign citizens And for local residents only 50 Bath. To get there we chose to ride a transportation that does not exist in Palembang but in the process namely BTS (Bangkok Transit System). Unfortunately, we are separated from my one room friend Sarah and El they are female students from UPI. But we remain on our goal of the Pakkad Sports Museum. With a sense of confidence and confidence, we tried to climb the base stations by taking note of the instructions available and also the technology sophistication map so we do not get lost. And for the first time, I got on a ride like this. Bangkok is a very busy city and quite crowded so BTS is needed by citizens to go to their place that they will head. Until the BTS all crowded and I will stand in the other passengers. Not long after we arrived at the nearest BTS station to our destination location, only need to walk 15 minutes and use the folder we finally arrived.
Looks from the outside like a normal building okay before we enter we have to pay the cost of tickets that have been mentioned earlier  there are still other extras we got souvenirs in the form of a comfortable fan same as in Indonesia but this souvenir is very useful for foreign tourists who do not Accustomed to being in very hot weather and extensions. We have to leave our luggage before entering the museum room. The average collection of objects is relics of statues, bracelets, necklaces etc. But there is another part of my interest that is a green park located in the middle of the building museum. The location of this park is very helpful to us so that the blazing weather does not directly burn our skin, the shady trees, the birds chirping, the beauty of the flower garden, the sound of water splashing as if to pay all my mental burden, clear my brain and as if bringing new energy for me. Satisfied we browse Pakkad Sports then the next destination is a mosque because an arrived time of prayer Ashar and mid day prayer time is almost gone. We found one of the mosques near the BTS station we were going to. Happy and happy unimaginable when we found the mosque and surrounded the mosque there is much halal food. Halal food is very difficult to find in non-Muslim majority countries. We decided to pray first and then continued with a meal. Can not wait for this stomach to taste the food is fresh and completely halal. Finally, I decided to order rice Biryani and Ratih ordered Mango sticky rice. Very good rice added with chicken and a sizeable portion. After we eat it is time to pay and it turns out the price of one serving of biryani rice is 80 bath hehe and Ratih order the price is 100 bath or equivalent Rp. 40,000. Quite surprising but it is comparable to our comfort when eating there feels like being in Indonesia.

And we ended the journey today by boarding the BTS and returning to the dorm. We have to leave energy for tomorrow. Tomorrow the adventure will soon continue exploring Bangkok further.
